What is HP4? 

Heating and cooling cost savings and mold-free walls - HP4 is based on a coating developed in the 1980s, perfected for the construction industry. The material was originally designed not for the construction industry but for aerospace applications. However, it was recognized as a successful and economical development in this field as well. The HP4 coating consists of vacuum balls and a special binder. The balls range in size from Ø10-120 µm, meaning that after application, the coating has multiple layers of balls capable of heat reflection, with a special binder between them. HP4 (Heat Shield 4) is an indoor dispersive heat-reflective coating, a Hungarian-developed and manufactured material with excellent heat-reflective properties. • HP4 works on a different principle than commonly known insulating materials such as hungarocell (polystyrene) or rock wool and glass wool-based materials. HP4, due to its operating principle, has many favorable properties that significantly improve the comfort of a room, save energy, and incur minimal additional costs compared to other insulating materials. • When using HP4, 70-90% of heat radiation is reflected back into the room, reducing room heating in the warmer months and providing uniform, quick heating during the winter months, reducing heating costs by 20-40%. HP4 saves energy, meaning it saves you money! • Using HP4 eliminates heat bridges and mold formation. At heat bridges, the surface temperature of the wall is lower than its surroundings, causing moisture in the air to condense on the surface. Tiny water droplets forming on the wall surface create an environment for mold spores to settle. HP4 consists of tiny vacuum balls, which evenly distribute the heat across the wall, bridging and insulating the heat bridges. Without heat bridges, there is no surface condensation, and thus no mold formation. Therefore, the HP4 coating prevents mold formation in two ways: by eliminating heat bridges and absorbing moisture.
